Our love was slowly dying,
And to this very day.
I regret all of the problems,
because now, you’re gone away.
I still here you whisper,
My name so soft and dear.
And though I cannot see you,
I know you’re watching near.
I feel our love still burning,
So deep inside my soul.
Filling every crevice,
Drowning every hole.
All the good times and the bad,
Still linger even after.
I still hear your giggle,
I’ll never forget your laughter.
Our love is something more to me,
Than kisses and and holding hands.
You said you always wanted wings,
Now you’re soaring above the lands.
So to end my tearful reminiscing,
I have one thing I need to say.
No matter what worlds fall between us,
I love you to this very day.

“I love you DJ, and I am sorry that it took you no longer being here for me to value that love. If you could only be here now to hold my hand one last time, I know that in that very moment of solitude and stillness, that we would not be afraid of what people have to say to us, and our love. I know you’re looking down on me, with your beautiful sapphire-blue eyes, from somewhere up above. Smile for me, okay? Smile that beaming smile and light everyone’s day. Light every corner that I am backed into, and every turn that is shadowed. I miss you, but I know that you will always be in my heart when I need you. You will never be forgotten, never fade with time. You are my happiness, my hope, my inspiration and most importantly that only man I will ever love…ever. So here’s to you babe, Forever my Bousa. I love you Baby-babe, You live on in my heart.”

When you receive a sympathy gift, there is a certain etiquette to follow. Sympathy gift etiquette should still be observed, even in a crisis. It is your responsibility to give an appropriate response with regards to gifts you receive, such as baskets, letters or flowers. When people take the time to send a family member a token of their sympathy, it is only proper to acknowledge their efforts to console you and your family.

Flowers Should Be Displayed

When you receive sympathy flowers, these should be displayed. It shows your appreciation towards the gesture. Depending on the situation, you can place them at home, in a hospital room, or at the cemetery. When the person sees the flowers they sent in use, they will be very happy. If you are overwhelmed with the volume of flowers you receive from various people, you can replace the display every other day. Visiting family and friends can also bring some back with them, for their own homes.

Keeping Track of Sympathy Gifts

It is proper sympathy gift etiquette to remember those who send their regards. One way to do this is to keep the card or tag that comes with the basket or flowers. You can store these in a designated place. To keep track of addresses, keep the sympathy cards in their envelopes. That way you’ll be able to send your thank you notes to the proper addresses. When it’s time to send thank-you notes, simply bring out the tags and cards.

Don’t Forget to Say Thank You

One aspect of sympathy gift etiquette is to send the giver some acknowledgment. You don’t need to write a long letter stating how much you appreciate the gesture. A short note will do. Keep it short and sweet. You can create a uniform format to use – there is no need to write something special for each note. People will understand that you have other things on your mind at the moment. While you don’t need to write something elaborate, you should still address the person properly. And at the very least, you should personally sign each note.

These are just some aspects of sympathy gift etiquette that you should keep in mind. No matter how much you are suffering during a time of grief, it unfortunately doesn’t excuse you from your role in society. When people go out of their way to send something, to show their concern for you, you must reciprocate properly. Even a simple thank-you note can mean a lot.

The school of time preaches the art of remembering
But souls I’ve crossed crave the art of forgetting
And though they say time fades memories
‘Tis not an absolute truth
For time reinforces, remembers ever so much more
For that which you own, not time nor fate can rob it
No event can change it, no circumstance deny it
But it is that which fate denied that time remembers most
It is what carves some souls, and sheds blood once again
But that which was taken was not yours from the beginning
It was a momentary possession,
Be it love, sorrow or joy
Time does allow partial healing
Not by forgetting, but by replacing
‘Tis the long neglected secret to forget
